So What Thanksgiving Hymns
will you all be singing tomorrow evening or on Thanksgiving Day? Here at St. Paul's Matins on Thursday morning will open with "Come, Ye Thankful People, Come." The Office Hymn for Matins will be "We Praise You, O God, our Redeemer Creator." The Canticle will be the lovely Starke Te Deum: "We Praise You and Acknowledge You." Our final hymn will be "Now Thank We." Additionally, the Choir will sing "O Christ the Same" and the Bells will play "With Thankful Hearts." Carlo will treat us to the Grave and Adagio Movements from Felix Mendelssohn-Barthodly Sonata II, and with Nicolaus Jacques Lemmen's Fanfare. I'm so very much looking forward to the service!

Here at Hope Lutheran in De Pere WI, we will use Evening Prayer on Wednesday Evening and Matins on Thursday morning. Both services will then use: 892 "Come, Ye Thankful People, Come" for the opening hymn;
894 "For the Fruits of His Creation" for the office hymn; 893 "Sing to the Lord of the Harvest" sung immediately before the sermon; 895 "Now Thank We All Our God" sung following the offering; and we will close with 785 "We Praise You, O God"
Sounds like winners to me!
At Meramec Bluffs, where I serve as chaplain, we have Divine Service, and will sing the following hymns: Come, Ye Thankful People, Come; Now Thank We All Our God; The Doxology; We Praise Thee, O God; Count Your Blessings; God will Take Care of You; This is My Father's World; and Praise to The Lord, the Almighty. God's blessings on your worship tomorrow, and on your celebration of Thanksgiving. Peace.
