Day Off?

Started the day with an early trip into St. Louis to teach a class at the sem from 8 to 9:30 - guest of Prof. Cook on the topic of confessional leadership (thanks, Paul, for the recommendation). Then back to Edwardsville to workout at Y. Then to lunch with Cindi. Then to AT&T store to get a replacement for David's phone...DON'T ASK! Then to Kohl's to pay a bill and Shop-N-Save to pick up hotdogs for the Youth Group meeting here at the parsonage on Sunday. Then to lawyer's to draw up wills for Cindi and me. Then to Dobb's to pick up Bekah's car (new radiator). Then home. Still ahead: early dinner and then off to Cindi's and Lauren's concert. Somehow, this is not my ideal picture of a day off...

Sounds pretty much like what us lay folk have to do on Saturdays (our day off)
:-)

Here's an idea: TELL US AHEAD OF TIME WHEN YOU WILL BE ON CAMPUS!!!!!! :-)

Too true, Cha!:)

Josh,

No time for visiting today. Finished class and took off to get to the Y, knew it would be tight schedule today. Next time I'm on campus with some free time, I WILL let you know. I promised Prof. Cook that we could do coffee sometime soon.

Can you share more about the class you taught at seminary? Or will this be a possible IE topic? Perhaps when you are guest host when Todd is away on vacation?

Thanks, Jeremy

Now, Jeremy, I could never do that - Todd knows about EVERYTHING going on across the face of Christendom today - that's what makes him so good. I know about my very small segment of Christendom.

The class was really just a discussion of the place the Symbols have in the lives of pastors, parishes and such. It was fun, but nothing profound or earth-shattering. Just an encouragement to continue to read and study them and let them challenge and shape our teaching and praxis.

Maybe we need a Lutheran equivalent to a shabbes goy!
