I think your sanctuary is beautiful. A classic Lutheran church and a real beauty. I always loved worshipping there when I was in St. Louis.
Um, Scott. It IS a Protestant sanctuary! We're Protestants, indeed, but like Krauth liked to say - we're also catholic, orthodox, and evangelical. That's the joy of being a Lutheran. :)

You won't see a large statue of Christ on an altar in a big box/mega/evangelical/non-denom, that's for sure, nor any Reformed churches either.
Are those banners or paintings? Is the artist a member of your congregation? They are beautiful. Being an artist myself (although my work nowadays consists of coloring with crayons with my daughter), one of the first things I notice, whether in living room or nave, is what's on the walls.
Kurt, thanks for the kind words. They're paintings on canvas. The artist works out of a neighboring town's art studio, but is not a member of our parish. Pax!
