Couple Interesting Must Reads

First, Cwirla. This is a great post on the nature of what is quite inaccurately called contemporary worship.

Second, Wilken. Please read not just Pr. Wilken's initial comments, but also the discussion that follows, especially the comments of one Gene (and his friend Martin Luther!). THIS is a quite honest and open rejection of Lutheranism. THAT folks is where this stuff is headed.

Definitely a lot to take in. Reading the comments and how the two sides disagree really makes me sad.

I think I am like a lot of people, when I say I feel stuck in the middle.

It is interesting to me how even the terms of the relative churches have been redefined. "Worship" for the evangelical doesn't include the teaching of the Word and adminstration of the sacraments. It's just the music.

Pr. Wilkin's blog, and especially the comments from ML and Gene, really make me realize how glad I am to have left evangelicalism for Lutheranism...but man, I really hate the politics. It's sad that after escaping the evangelical church and arriving at the LCMS, the LCMS is dragging me back in! Well, sorry guys, here I stand...

Yup, we live our lives as member of the Church militant. We dare never forget it. Tonight we studied Songs 6 where the Beloved Bride appeared as an army with banner arrayed!

Amen Pastor Weedon! We live and strive as the church militant not (yet) the church triumphant nor the church impotent!
