What a Fine Homily

by my internet friend Fr. Tapani Simojoki of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Fareham, England on Mark 13. Listen to the whole thing - you'll be blessed indeed!

P.S. Fr. Simojoki shared with me a publication of our dear Dr. Kleinig tititled "What's the Use of Praising God" and it is from it that my "New Lutheran Quote of the Day" will be coming for a few weeks!

Thank you for your kind words. One correction, though: I'm only a Br. at the moment, not a Fr. In the ELCE (unlike in the Church of England), a curate is what you would call a vicar.

continued blessings on your curacy, dear (non-internet) friend - and thanks for the sermon.

(Yet another reason Weedon's jealous of my year at Westfield House - I got to know Tapani in person! grin)

I'm pretty certain I preached at Fareham while I was there - even drove there from Cambridge (that was fun).

Hey, Jim!

You are always welcome to preach at Fareham!!! Just let me know when. The church building no longer exists, but you would recognise the faithful congregation. And as you will remember, it's a lovely part of the world in general.

Blessings to you & your clan!
