Christmas Shopping? Done.

Bwahaha! I love being organized! :)

Jo (my mother in law) and I headed out shopping today. We left at 9:30 and didn't get back till after 3. We had a very successful trip. We ended up crossing the river and shopping in St. Louis. She got a few things she has been looking for and I basically finished my Christmas shopping - thanks to her input. I'm going to make it a tradition to bring her along each year - she really helped! We lunched at Olympia's - my favorite Greek restaurant in St. Louis. She tried their spanikopita and I munched on saganaki, flamed right there at the table. Opah! I am so thankful to have the shopping taken care of before the madness breaks loose after Thanksgiving. Just stocking stuffers left to tend to and for that, there's always Wallyworld.

Objective #1 for vacation: checked off.

Oh, I'm jealous! The Olympia Kabob House - one of the finest. We have George's Greek Cafe in Long Beach (grilled lamb chops to die for), but there a many fond memories of Friday afternoons of theological reflection accompanied by humus, saganaki, Kalamata olives, and the best-poured Black&Tan in town.

I'm awash with nostalgia!

I'm jealous, too -- of your having the shopping all done! I'm dreading it this year. My father's mind is too far gone for him to enjoy any gift and he doesn't need anything anyway, my mother for years has always rejected whatever I give her, and so it goes. The only part of Christmas shopping I enjoy anymore is shopping for the children in the family. Sigh...
