Angela Sent Me This

after reading my words last night about marking my children with the ashes when they were little...

I share this pic of Thea with Angela's permission.

Yes, EXACTLY!

I was called upon to assist with the administration of the ashes at the Ash Wednesday lunchtime service in our Cathedral.

Several came up with babies - and did not appear sure whether to present them for ashes or not. Of course, they got 'em too! Complete with the words "Remember, O Man, that thou art dust and to dust thou shalt return"!

In fact, at adoration yesterday in the Cathedral, the priest who was preaching made a point of the fact that there are two times when anyone, absolutely anyone of any age, status, religion, whatever, is invited to join the procession and come forward: the imposition of ashes on Ash Wednesday, and the veneration of the cross on Good Friday. Both, he pointed out, were calls to repentance - a call which is addressed to all people.

(And here is my little effort to encourage your posters to play the "verification code game":

pedize: the new "no-effort" bicycle!)
