New Lutheran Quote of the Day

I also make it a practice never to go to Holy Communion just for myself.  I go with some specific request for myself, but I also so for help for some people whose needs I have discovered the previous week. -- Dr. John Kleinig, Grace upon Grace, p. 215.

Pr. Weedon, I don't understand what it means going to Holy Communion for someone else or with specific requests. Could you elaborate?

Timothy, I think he means that he approaches the Sacrament interceding to the One who is present in His body and blood on behalf of specific persons and their needs, as well as for himself and his own needs.
