So I couldn't restrain myself...

...we ended up singing at Catechism Service "The Angel Gabriel" and "From East to West" and we read (but didn't sing, sadly) "Of the Father's Love Begotten."  Nothing like the hymns of the Church to teach the adoration due to the Child who is at once our brother and our Creator!  I left feeling like humming "it's beginning to SOUND a lot like Christmas!"  ;)

You sang "The Angel Gabriel" but spoke "Father's Love"? Man, y'all are messed up - Father's Love is much easier to sing. I don't think I'll be able to get my folks here to sing "The Angel Gabriel"

Two of my favorite hymns.

Speaking of hymns, the very gifted young fella that plays organ at the 10:30 Mass I attended on Sunday nearly fell off his bench when I softly asked him, "Excuse me, were you just playing "Sheep May Safely Graze"?, his prelude selection for the morning. And he played it beautifully.

Not something too many Catholics would be asking him.

I will always cherish my Bach cantatas and chorales.
