Ten Tonight!

In the darkened church, light flooding only around the altar, we stood and prayed the confiteor, sang the ancient psalms and hymns, listened to the Word, prayed, and asked to be let go in peace. Compline again. The service of peace. Thanks be to God for the opportunity to pray it with brothers and sisters in Christ. For me, it capped off a wonderful three days of worship.

Compline is indeed beautiful. I'd like to attend a church that has it, so I could record it and put it on the blog. Alas, there's no oil in Hamel. ;)

Dan,

Oil wells aplenty not three or four miles to the north!!!

Hmmm. HAL to my knowledge doesn't have locations in that area.

There's:
Fort Smith, AR - 8 hours away
Wooster, OH - 8 hours away
Kalkaska, MI - 8 3/4 hours

The funny part is you are about 60% on the way to my parents in Kansas City from Columbus, OH. But the Mrs. wouldn't have the same appreciation. :)

I sadly have not yet been privelaged to attend a compline service. I do use it as a personal evening devotion from time to time though, and it is most uplifting.
